How often do you find your children singing the latest catchy song that they’ve heard, with Rhythm & Writing your children use catchy songs to remember how to write the letters. I’m thrilled to share with you all that we discovered about this program in this review of Rhythm & Writing With The Get Write Crew by Rhythm & Writing. The book and videos go through upper and lower case letters.

What The Lessons Look Like

The songs that accompany the printing book are available on their website. Each song goes through how to write between 2 and 4 of the letter upper and lower case letters. Inside the print book, you’ll find the corresponding letter sheets. With the transparent paper that we received with the book, my daughter could trace the sheets with dry erase before printing on the actual paper so she could have even more practice!

Throughout the book, there are stories that go along with the lessons as well as little pictures at the beginning of each lesson that the children can colour in. I thought that this was a nice way to break up the lessons. Another great feature is at the end of the book there are “letter review” sheets that allow you to see how well your child can now write their letters on their own! These pages would be great if you have to hand in assessments for your children.

We decided to do one letter page per day, usually completing a total of four letters per week. My daughter wasn’t too keen on the dry erase so after getting her to try it a couple of times we just used the book to write directly in. Before each letter page, I would play the corresponding video for her to watch. In some cases, this meant that she would watch the same video four times. She didn’t seem to mind watching the video over and over though, I think she found them interesting enough.

Things we really liked

My daughter really enjoyed the videos that go along with this writing program. She thought that the songs were fun and has been singing them around the house. I think that this was a great way to get her to remember how to write her letters and we will be using the songs as a review in the future!

I really like that there’s a pre-assessment that matches an assessment your child completes at the end of the book to really see how far they have come. I also like that there’s a little story in the book to accompany the videos. It really helps bring everything together and gives a nice way for me to be a part of her lessons.

Where you can find Rhythm & Writing

You can find all of their products on the Rhythm & Writing website, https://rhythm-writing.businesscatalyst.com/store! There are a couple of different options when buying the program. You are able to buy the printed book which will be sent to you in the mail ($19.99USD), the PDF version of the book that you would just print at home ($12.99USD), or you can even buy it lesson by lesson ($4.99USD). I think that the lesson by lesson could be handy if your child only struggles with a couple of the letters or if you want a better look at how the system works without buying the whole program.
