Let’s Go Geography

It can be hard finding ways to explore the world without actually leaving your house! We did just that with Let’s Go Geography! For a review we recently received the Let’s Go Geography, Year 2 which is the second half to this amazing geography program! With the help of Let’s Go Geography, we were able to travel around the world and learn about places that we have never even been to!

With this geography program, you get access to 32 lessons about different places in the world. The first lesson is discussing the continents that you will be learning about and it gives you the activities to create your travel journal. You will be using this travel journal to keep your activities for each country organized! It’s really a neat way to keep everything together. This also allows you to add or omit things as you see fit because you’re building an individual journal for each child.

I try to take a more child-directed approach to our homeschooling so we did not go in order of the lessons. We did the first lesson so that we had our journals ready to go and so that we could hear about the different continents. After that, we jumped around from the lesson depending on where my children wanted to learn about. I found that a lesson could last anywhere from one week to three weeks. You can really stretch them out as much as you would like. We added tons of topic related library books and even watched other movies and videos about the places we were learning about. The way that Let’s Go Geography tells you what library book to check out did work for how I get library books from my local library, but I was able to just search the country and narrow it down to children’s books, that works well.
