Williamson Lake Campground Review

Sadly it was raining almost our whole stay at Williamson Lake Campground, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying everything the campground had to offer! This campground was extremely family friendly and offered several things that the kids really enjoyed, one being their centrally located playground. There were also other things available to do on at the campground, boat rentals, walking trails, and a little mini-golf course. The best part was that despite seeming like it was far away from everything and everyone, it was only a couple minute drive away from Main Street Revelstoke, BC. Which made exploring the area very easy without sacrificing the beautiful scenery!

We decided to stay our first couple of nights in there Yome. Which is basically a large canvas tent with a wooden frame that has some homey features inside. In this particular Yome, there were two bunk beds, a table for storage, a fridge, and some little lights. They also supplied some very simple cooking and dining dishes that were stored inside the Yome. This was a great way to start the tip because after a long car ride we definitely were not in the mood to set up our tent in the rain! The site also included a picnic table, a stove, barbeque, and a fire pit with chairs! There was everything you would need for a comfortable stay.

Williamson Lake Campground has some great amenities. There are two washroom buildings, one includes the free shower, which I think was a great surprise because lots of campground showers are coin operated. The washrooms were very clean and if there was an issue the staff was super helpful! They also had coin operated laundry on site, which we utilized a couple of times to clean off the mud and dry out our clothes. You could buy firewood from the office, pre-chopped, which was handy seeing as I forgot to pack our axe.
