Awesome Elementary Chapter Books!

When we first started looking for chapter books for my son it was really hard, he wasn’t quite at the reading level he needed to be to read some of the harder ones but all of the easier ones are dry and don’t have much of a storyline. We managed to find some really awesome series that we have really fallen in love with. I think that most of these either a boy or a girl would enjoy them, both my children love them because they are all about adventure! As an added bonus, most can be found at the library or on kindle if you’re not wanting to add who series to your home library.

All About Reading

Magic Tree House

These are adventure books where a brother and sister travel around the world and through history in a magical tree house. They end up exploring and solving mysteries to help the friends they make along the way. These are also great as audio books, my son reads them and then listens to them after!

Canadian Flyer

The storyline is similar to the Magic Tree House books where two kids are travelling to the past on grand adventures. The difference is that these books are based on Canadian history and the kids are travelling through time on a magical sled. It’s a really great way to get the kids excited about history!

Imagination Station

Similar to the two series above this series is a time travel to explore history type books. Although, this series focuses on the biblically historical events. Definitely, a great way to bring the events in the bible to life, which I find is super cool!

Geronimo Stilton

A mouse that explores the world and goes on epic adventures, do I really need to say anything more? There are several different series within this mousey collection, we personally like the original series and the fantasy series. They also have books that have a girl mouse so those might be more appealing if you have little girls.

Roald Dahl Books

This covers quite a few books but there honestly isn’t a Roald Dahl book that I haven’t like so sharing them with my children is a given! I would suggest starting out with books such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The Littles

The Littles are tiny little mouse people who live inside a regular family home. They just do fairly ordinary things but because they are so small living in such a big would it involves a lot of adventure. I used to love reading these books as a child so it’s awesome to hear my son reading them to me now.

Dragon Masters

These were the first books that we found that my son got really interested in. It’s a story about a young boy who enters the world of magic and dragons. Full of different adventures we have yet to be bored with following his journey!
